After the turmoil, a clearing. Beneath a vivid blue sky crossed by white and turquoise clouds, the mountains are veiled in mauve mist, while golden ochre hillsides glow in the light. Below, a still lake gathers the sky and the gold in deep blues and golden reflections. Respite recalls the serenity of the Hudson River School luminists, those calm waters where light seems suspended: a moment of peace, a breath between two storms.
